I just came across two incredible sites where you can build your own online idea boards. If you have LOADS of time, I could see how they could easily suck you in for hours… or days… Above is VT Wonen’s moodboard. Once I got over the fact that I can’t understand all the words and categories, I found that it’s fully loaded with tons of incredible home decor images. Scroll through each one and you can find amazing collections of chairs, sofas, paint colors, lamps, wallpaper… (They even include several versions of a favorite Jielde lamp!) I hope to carve out a chunk of time to really mess with it this weekend.
VT Wonen is a magazine from the Netherlands which I haven’t been able to get my hands on (yet) - even Rob, in New York for a couple days, hasn’t found a copy there. But if you just cruise through their website, you can still catch their images of beautifully decorated rooms, interesting new products and gorgeous inspiration.

Next, I discovered Polyvore through Creature Comforts - and wow. They have a little widget thing you download that allows you to collect images from all over the web - when you come across something you like (preferably with a white background), you click on the little widget and it saves the item to your Polyvore account. Ta-da!
You can organize everything - it looks like people primarily use it for clothing collections, but you could presumably use it to organize idea boards for anything you come across. With possibilities endless, I think this could be dangerously addictive! (Pictured above is a fab collection of green stuff from Doha2 on Polyvore. If you see something you like, Polyvore also itemizes everything pictured and includes direct links to their home sites - holy cats, it’s hard core!)
Last week, I think I may have started my first weekly feature with a “Friday night funk” video. This week, I couldn’t wait to post a new favorite video, but it’s Friday morning funk. Just watching it makes me walk a little peppier - much needed on this cold, grey day.
And, because the original is even better than its latest “mash-up,” you can check out the amazing Gwen Verdon again in the original version of “Mexican Breakfast” here. I wish I could have that song stream in my head all weekend. It’s fun to be in a Fosse mood!
