Heather Frazier, artist/designer and founder of Frazier & Wing, designs and creates some amazing mobiles using paper and monofilament. Her original collection uses images from magazines (hoorah, reuse!), and she has also introduced a line using stiff white paper and a little burst of color (red is pictured above and purple is pictured below). The paper is cut in different shapes - circles, flowers and funky shapes. The white mobile collection ranges in size from 30″ to 38″ long and she offers a handful of colors (red, green, coral, brown, lavender, and blue) and you can buy them right here.

Doesn’t Heather do such a fantastic job of styling her product shots? The only problem is that it makes me want more than the mobile - I want the whole setting. Take, for example, the shot below, featuring one of her magazine mobiles - seriously! Even the daffodils are delightful. It just seems like you’d have to be happy in that room.

And she even has some glamour shots of her mobiles so you can see the detail and their vibrant color combinations - so lively and joyful! What a great way to inject a burst of color into a room. They look so delicate; Heather clearly has a unique ability for being meticulous and patient. (The “full color” mobiles are available up to 72″ long - wow!)

OK, so if the fabulous mobiles aren’t enough, Heather also designs and makes a great collection of pillows. I really admire her ability to design a full collection - the entire set makes such a bold collective statement and really presents a strong point of view.

If you like paper and color the way I do, I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a look at Heather’s work! And do be sure to check out more on her website right here. (All pictures are via Frazier & Wing. On a side note, big kudos for such an elegant, easy-to-navigate, easy-to-buy website, too. Thanks, Heather!)

Five years ago, Stacy Pancake founded Pancake & Franks, a letterpress design studio located in San Francisco. Using recycled papers and non-toxic inks, she creates incredibly crisp and fresh notecards that I adore.

I love the fact that letterpress is such an odd irony of using heavy antique equipment to create delicate and vibrant modern art pieces. Stacy’s work has such a clean look to them that it’s hard to imagine the cards being cranked out on those heavy, oiled-up machines!

Besides offering quite a wide range of notecards designs (for every day, birthday, holiday, baby…), Pancake & Franks also offers custom design work. Above are some great herb cards (I keep wanting to say how crisp everything looks, herbs especially! I think it’s also the vibrant colors), and below are a few more water-oriented cards (seahorses, octopus, water and urchin).

You can see SO much more of her work on her website, and buy direct right here. Or you can also find Pancake & Franks letterpress cards through an enormous network of retailers (listed on their site). Lastly, below is a food-oriented set (love the food)!

This is one of those that I have to play LOUD so I can’t hear myself shrieking, “my life’s just fine!!!” Hope it gives you something upbeat to enjoy and get your weekend started on the right note. Mary J. Blige is incredible.
